A Busy Day at Master Barber's Busy Barber Shop (Part 6)
“Sir … Yes Can
….Sir….please, for all four of them" responded the female police officer
with a smile on her face. Sir ... Oo Can
.... Sir .... mangyaring, para sa lahat ng apat na ng mga ito" tumugon ang
babae na opisyal ng pulis na may isang ngiti sa kanyang mukha.
Bella same identical
cut for you too right! Bella parehong
magkakahawig cut para sa iyo masyadong karapatan!
Bella looked at the
female police officer and said “you know it is usually stifling hot in the
apartment but the evening air was starting to cool it off nowadays. Yesterday I
finished my shower and laid on my mattress looking through magazines and I stated
rifling through a copy of the latest Vogue when I came across a photo of
Agyness Deyn. Do you know her?”
The police officer
“replied sure I do she wore her hair cropped short last time I saw her right?”
“Yes. I loved her
short crop and started to imagine what it would look like on me. I even went
back and forth to the bathroom and looked at my reflection in the mirror while
my hair was still wet pulling it back and imagining myself with a short crop
like Agyness and the more I think I am tempted to have it cut even shorter”.
The female police
officer looked into Bella’s face and said “Bella I have been looking at your
face and like the idea of shorter hair on you very much. You remind me of
myself when I was your age. You are
5’10” and very slim. You have strong cheekbones and a jaw line that would show
better and allow your true beauty to shine with all that hair off of your face.
I know that deep down you really want to cut your hair short but couldn't afford to pay for a haircut right….. Or not girl ..!”
Every day I wake up
at 4am and like always I get ready for work.
I make myself coffee and leave for the subway reaching work before 6am.
I know now that the weather most days at this time of the year are hot and sticky,
so I always waste ten minutes or more to tie my hair up into a bun for my shift
before I leave home to go to work. On my breaks I walk around the boutiques
again and almost every day notice of some of the girls with shorter haircuts.
Short hair seems like it is the latest trend so I can’t’ get it out of my head…
so what you say is…. forget it” says Bella as emotion and tears start to show
on her face.
“Bella why are you
crying and tears girl …………….. Come here and give me a hug” says the female
police officer as Bella leaned over and hugged her for about 5 seconds before
wiping the tears of her face with her hand.
Now look me in the
face Bella said the female officer and answer my question “deep down you really
want to cut your hair short but couldn't afford to pay for a haircut right…..
Or not girl ..?”
Bella somewhat shy
and red in the face answered quietly “Yes..Yes
madam your right”.
OK, so today your
haircut will be the same as these four girls Short Regulation Juvenile Lockup
Haircut… identical cut for you too right girl? Said the female police officer
to Bella.
“Madam Yes Madam
please madam” replied Bella to the police officer very quietly.
Don’t be shy Bella….
I will tell the barber you want the same replied the police officer.
“Sir…. My friend
Bella here fancies the same short haircut as these four but she is a bit
bashful and shy seeing it is her first time here and I will be paying for her
haircut sir if that is ok”. Sir .... Aking kaibigan Bella dito fancies parehong
maikling gupit bilang apat na babae sa akin ngunit siya ng kaunti mahiyain at
mahiya nakikita ito ay kanyang unang pagkakataon dito at ako ay nagbabayad para
sa kanyang gupit ginoo kung na ok.
Master Barber then
looked at Bella and the Female Police Officer with a smile on his face and said
“no need to be shy young lady………….. Otherwise the police officer will need to
use handcuffs on you just like these two.
Madam Bella’s first haircut in my barbers chair today is complimentary
so long as she promises to come back
regularly …………….. OK?”
In the meantime
Imee, the lady haircutter had now walked over behind the barber’s chair,
grabbed a neck strip and wrapped it snug around Asian Girl’s neck. She then
flung over a white cape around her shoulders pinned the cape snug around her
neck. Asian girl looked at her reflection
with her long thick black hair covered over by the cape around her shoulders in
absolute silence and a scowl grimace frown on her face.
"She's all
ready for you Master Barber" said Imee.
“Imee… No she is not
…… Is one of her hands handcuffed to the chair?” replied master barber with a
sharp and decisive voice!
Imee, now took a
pair of handcuffs from the top drawer in the work bench and went to Asian Girls
right side handcuffing her right hand to the barbers chair and said "She's
all handcuffed and ready for you now Master Barber"
“By the way that is
Imee she is one of the hair-cutters here” said the female police officer to
Bella.
“Ok and can she cut
good & short like sir over there….” asked Bella.
“Oh yeah, all the hair-cutters that work for master barber (Sir) here can cut good anyone’s hair
as long as it’s short” the female police officer said.
Bella looked at the
officer with more tears on her face and said out loud “Madam you no need to pay
for my haircut I have saved up enough to pay seeing haircut here is cheaper
then those salons. Also ‘Sir’ please I don’t want to trouble you for free I
will pay Sir …. YES sir I will be your regular customer” Din 'Sir' Hindi ko
nais na Problema para sa libreng gupit maaari kong bayaran Sir .... Oo ginoo
ako ang iyong regular na customer.
The female police
officer looked into Bella’s face once again and said “oh Bella you remind me so
much of myself when I was your age… the more I look at your face and like the
idea of shorter hair on you very much so I will be here at your side for your
haircut today. Would you like that?
“Yes Madam I
would……Yes Madam” Bella answered.
“Ok then” ….. said

Master Barber had
now cut fat girl’s hair to a tight taper / faded effect along her hairline all
the way around the back before moving to right side followed by the left side
and repeating the process to complete the tapered / faded finish and the
clippers going silent again.
He returned to the
work bench took the guard off his electric clippers and picked up his Black
Clipper Comb before starting at the front of fat girl’s head and working all
the way back cutting the uneven lengths and spiked hair still on top of fat
girl’s head which by now did not exceed the length of 3.5 to 4 inches at her
fringe all the way down to the same length as a military academy boys induction
flattop.
Soon the fat girl’s
eyes as well as Bella’s popped as we watched him use his electric clippers with
no guard, Andis Black Clipper Comb commonly used for clipper cuts or flattops
and take to the hair still on the top
her head with the clipper-over-comb cutting technique.
Master Barber
started at the front of her head and working all the way back raising the hair
so it was sticking up spiked and cutting it all the way down to the same length
as a military academy boys’ extra short induction flattop usually reserved for
cadets with a big mouth or those who try and tell the barber how to cut their
tresses. The spiked hair at the top of fat girl’s head did not exceed the
length of 1.00 to 1.75 inches at her fringe after he’d finished just like
Shirin and many others whose bums have filled this barbers’ chair.
“Wow Sir does not
waste time” Wow Sir hindi aksaya ng oras, said Bella out loud as she watched
fat girl’s remaining strands of long brown hair rain down onto the cape. This
cutting technique is usually used by barbers for sides/sideburns and the bottom
area of the haircut by the neck. However club cutting, free hand clippers over
comb and or scissor over comb are only usually use to do away with the bulk of
one’s hair by experienced or military barbers.
The sound of the
clippers that filled the room went silent again as master barber walked back to
work bench before saying “Short enough madam” to the female police officer. The
female police officer then walked towards the barber’s chair and carefully
inspected the fat girl’s military buzz cut before saying “Good Job Sir as
always” and then looked at Bella and said “your turn is coming Bella my girl”.
Now with a smile on
his face Master barber came back and tilted fat girl’s head straightforward and
slid the razor into her nape scrapping it across the back of her neck. He ran
the razor up over her right ear and down her right cheek. He went around to her
left side and ran the razor over her left ear as well and down her other cheek.
He wiped her hairline off with the paper towel and threw the towel into a bin.
He put some lotion
on his hand and applied it to fat girl’s skin where he had just shaved her. The smell was
that of masculine guys’ aftershave lotion and very cooling on the skin.
Barber then took a
dusting brush and poured some baby powder onto it. He brushed off her neck and
over her ears and forehead while he loosened the cape.
Suddenly and with a
loud voice Master Barber looked at the remaining two other girls headed for
Juvenile (Juvie) Lock Up pointing his hand at the other girl with long and
thick brown hair touching her waist at the back and fringe covering her face
and touching her nose also and said “You girl move your bum and take fat girls
place in this chair here now” pointing at the red barbers chair that fat girl
had just been shorn in and was still handcuffed to. The girl ignored master barber and stared at
the ceiling pretending as if she did not hear him.
Master barber looked
at Imee and said “Imee undo the handcuffs here and get her friend over there
cuffed to the chair” before walking over towards Bella with a friendly smile on
his face and saying “Bella look into the mirror here and admire that long hair
of your while you can……….soon it will be all gone girl”. He then turned to the
other girl with long and thick brown hair touching her waist at the back and
fringe covering her face and touching her nose also looked her in the face and
said with a loud voice “get your bum into that chair NOW!” She sat there stunned in silence and
pretended that she was deaf. Again he
looked her in the face and yelled at her abruptly “get your bum into that chair
NOW girl!”
Surprisingly, Bella
looked at the female police officer and Master Barber and said with a smile on
her face “should I help her to the barbers chair madam? She obviously can’t hear sir with that hair
covering her small ears...”
Master Barber looked
at Bella and the officer and said thanks Bella that would be a great idea.
Bella stood up and walked over towards the girl with long and thick brown hair
touching her waist at the back and fringe covering her face and touching her
nose also looked her in the face and said to her politely “what’s your name?..”
the girl replied “Alcee” ok, Alcee can you please stop wasting time and
delaying I really want my haircut today or should I drag you?
The girl reacted and
said “you wouldn't do that would you!” Bella reacted with a laugh and grabbed a
large chunk of her long and thick brown hair covering her left ear and pulled
it hard leaving the girl no choice but to move her bum as she was dragged by her
own long hair towards the barbers’ chair where fat girl had just been
shorn.
Imee had unlocked
the hand cuffs and Fat girl had taken her seat back in the waiting area. The piles of hair that once covered fat
girls head now covered the floor around the barbers chair and were kicked aside
by Alcee as she was being physically dragged by her very own hair into the
chair. “Now sit you bum in this barbers
chair before I push you into the dam chair” said Bella with a loud and
assertive voice.
Alcee is a short
nickname form of Alcina a name of Greek origin meaning strong-willed.
Alcee was silent and
thought about it for some fifty or more seconds before Imee came up from behind
her and used her right arm to firmly grab Alcee by her shoulder and force her
into the chair and yelling at her “sit girl”.
